Tesco Trials New Wine Information Website

British supermarket chain Tesco is trialling a new wine website, www.tescowinefinder.com, which will help customers pick wines to suit their taste and food.

The site contains simple questions like ‘how strong do you like your tea?’, or 'do you prefer a roast to more exotic meals', and using this information, the site will help customers find suitable wines.

According to the retailer, instead of running lots of promotions, Tesco will now offer low prices on wines all the time. "This means that for customers they’ll no longer have to navigate lots of deals. We’re being more transparent, so they will be able to get the wines they love at better, everyday prices," said the retailer.

"Wine prices will be simple, clear, straightforward and as much as possible round numbers – for example, £5, £5.25, and £5.50."

Customers had the opportunity to sample Tesco’s wines at the recent Tesco wine fair, held at Olympia, London from October 31 to November 1.
