Nearly 6% Of Spanish Households Didn't Purchase Toilet Tissue Last Year

According to figures from Kantar Worldpanel, which feature in a study conducted by Renova, 5.8 per cent of Spanish households didn't make a single purchase of toilet tissue in 2015. This equals to over a million homes.

As reported on granconsumo.tv, the total expenditure of Spanish households in this products in 2015 reached €488 million.

The reasons that such a large number of homes not reporting purchases of toilet tissue are varied, with the use of substitute products among the reasons cited. However, as Renova's study hints, some consumers 'borrow' paper from their workplaces.

The analysis identifies Basque citizens as the least likely to buy toilet tissue, with 9.3 per cent of households not buying it in 2015. In Galicia, only 3.6 per cent of homes did not purchase from the category.

Premium toilet tissue accounts for approximately 20 per cent of the market in Spain and experienced growth of 10 per cent compared to last year's figures.
