FrieslandCampina Improves Nutritional Value Of Range
Dairy firm FrieslandCampina has announced that it has improved the nutritional value of its product range, to the level that 66% of volume sold in 2018 complies with the company’s Global Nutritional Standards (GNS).
The company has set a target of 70% of its products to be GNS compliant by 2020.
FrieslandCampina is targeting the development of a product portfolio that offers a “good balance between ‘basic nutritional products for daily consumption’ and ‘self-indulgent products for occasional consumption’,” the company said.
FrieslandCampina’s Global Nutritional Standards are based on the WHO Global Action Plan and is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
‘In the Better Products programme, we are continuously improving the nutritional value of our products,’ the company said.
‘We ensure a good balance between the number of nourishing products intended for daily use and the number of indulgence products for occasional use. […] The Global Nutritional Standards serve as our guide in product development and reformulation.’
