Go Natural Plans To Double Store Count In Portugal

Health and nutrition retailer Go Natural plans to double the number of supermarkets it operates in Greater Lisbon and Greater Porto this year.

Go Natural currently operates eight stores in the two cities.

Plans also include the opening of seven new restaurants under the banner, one of which will be located at Barcelona airport, Frederico Paiva, director of the healthy nutrition business area of Sonae MC, told Dinheiro Vivo.

If the plan is fulfilled, the business will close the year with a total of 16 Go Natural supermarkets and 27 restaurants.

Expansion Plans

Go Natural is 51% owned by Portuguese retail group Sonae MC, with the remaining capital in the hands of the two founding partners Joana and Diogo Martorell.

Go Natural supermarkets offer a range of more than 4,000 organic and healthy SKUs. Partnerships have been developed with exclusive brands such as RudeHealth and Urtekram, while the stores also offer in-season organic fruits and vegetables.

As well as looking to develop more airport locations, Go Natural has been present on TAP flights since 2018 with wraps offered through a certified partner (the LSG Group). Since 2009 it has also provided catering services, both for the corporate channel and for selected schools.
