Majority Of Visitors To Attend Fruit Attraction 2020, Survey Finds

In a survey carried out by IFEMA, 68% of domestic visitors and 58% of the international guests have already planned their visit to this year's edition of Fruit Attraction - the fruit and vegetable sector’s signature event.

The phrase 'Celebrating Fruit Attraction, we will be there. How could we not go?' sums up the outcome of the survey carried out by the IFEMA Contact Centre to gauge the intention of visitors attending the event.

The survey, conducted in early June, found that 68% of respondents from Spain and 58% of Europeans plan to attend the fair in person.

However, 31% of Spanish and 38% of European visitors stated that their attendance will depend on the evolution of the epidemiological situation.

Only 1% of Spanish respondents and 4% of Europeans confirmed that they will not physically attend the event.

The survey included visitors from the event's previous edition comprising 2,876 guests from the Iberian Peninsula and 713 attendees from Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

All respondents are associated with the retail industry (supermarket, hypermarket), imports/exports or wholesale businesses, IFEMA added.

Fruit Attraction 2020, organised by IFEMA and FEPEX, will take place in Madrid from 20 to 22 October.

This year, the fair will adopt a hybrid (physical-digital) model in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The event will see the launch of Fruit Attraction LIVEConnect, a new digital platform that will generate thousands of new international buying and selling opportunities for the fruit and vegetables sector.
