Nestlé Deems Plastic Waste Reduction An 'Urgent Priority'

Nestlé has announced that reducing plastic waste is an 'urgent priority' for the organisation.

The world's biggest food company also reiterated its commitment to raise awareness and find solutions to the growing issue.

Implementing Changes

Nestlé has collaborated with governments, NGOs, suppliers, waste managers, retailers and a myriad of related companies to implement measures that will assist the firm in cutting plastic waste.

It is focused on reducing the use of single-use plastics, and is testing reusable packaging, new delivery systems, and innovative business models to achieve its goals.

It is testing reusable ice cream containers for Häagen-Dazs in the US, and has introduced dispensers for Nescafé and Milo in many countries around the world.

By 2020, it aims to launch new water dispensers that will allow consumers to fill their own reusable bottles.

These initiatives are a part of the broader set of actions that will help the company to achieve its sustainability goals, the company said.
