Tetra Pak And ABB To Develop Energy Assessment Programme
Food-packaging and -processing company Tetra Pak has announced that it is developing an energy assessment programme in collaboration with ABB.
The project aims to help food and beverage producers to reduce their environmental impact and cut costs, thereby maximising profitability.
Commenting on the initiative, Johan Nilsson, vice-president of Tetra Pak, said, “There is a sense of urgency for all industries to reduce their environmental impact across their operations, and we are developing programmes, together with our partners, to reduce this impact, both for our customers and the overall industry.”
Pilot projects in the Americas have shown that the programme can potentially reduce carbon emissions and cut energy costs by 15% to 25%.
“The plant assessment programme is an excellent example of an area where we have found and created opportunities for environmental savings,” Nilsson added.
According to Visar Krasniqi, vice-president of digital transformation at ABB, the strategic collaboration between the two companies will create a leading manufacturing ecosystem, enabling the firm to provide Tetra Pak’s customers with the most advanced digital solutions and services.
