The founder of Karpea SA, Ananias Karachanidis, had to return to Greece from Pontos – a Greek settlement area in Asia Minor – due to the war in 1922.
He arrived in southern Greece and started growing olive trees in a small field in Sparta, in Peloponnese.
Karachanidis spent countless hours taking care of his trees, to make sure that his crops were always outstanding.
Driven by the will to work hard and grow his business, Karachanidis endured hardships with determination, creativity and persistence.
Today, the same passion and dedication to quality is evident in the company he created, Karpea.
Creating A Legacy
Every year, the company's founder was the first to taste Karpea SA's Unfiltered Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), which helped him “catch the rhythm of the olives, to capture the essence of life".
This natural, slightly blurred oil, termed as the 'first juice' of the olives, is believed to be the best indicator of EVOO, and guarantees the quality the company is proud of.
Karpea's Unfiltered EVOO's uniqueness, fresh aroma, bitter but not annoying taste, lively spirit, and 'kicking' attitude brings it closest to the natural olive juice right after the olive mill.
