US Packaging Firm Pro Mach Buys Zalkin

US packaging producer Pro Mach has completed the purchase of French capping machinery manufacturer Zalkin for an undisclosed fee.

Pro Mach, which owned a minority stake in Zalkin for a number of years, announced last December its intention to launch a takeover bid.

Pro Mach president and chief executive, Mark Anderson, said that "we’re proud to welcome Zalkin’s outstanding team to the Pro Mach family. We share the same commitment for delivering superior productivity, quality, and value to our customers. We look forward to working together to accelerate growth and strengthen our position as a global leader in packaging solutions.”

Zalkin makes various capping machines, cap sorters, elevators and decappers.

The deal will see Zalkin's management and general staff remain at their two facilities in Montreuil L’Argillé and Rueil-Malmaison, France.

“This is a win-win for our customers and the Zalkin team,” said. Zalkin general manager Michel Marion. “Pro Mach provides strength, stability, and investment that will allow us to grow faster and continue developing the world’s best capping products and solutions. © 2013 - European Supermarket Magazine by Enda Dowling
