Montenegro’s leading food retailer Voli is investing €10 million to build a modern distribution centre.
Construction work will start in September and should be completed by September 2017. The 16,000 square metre distribution center near Podgorica will have a capacity of between 50,000 and 60,000 pallet spaces.
According to Voli owner, Dragan Bokan, 'the investment will streamline business processes and reduce operating costs'.
At the same time, 'Montenegrin agriculture producers will for the first time have guaranteed product placement, while customers will be provided with quality and standardised agricultural products'.
The EBRD recently invested €10 million in Voli, becoming a minority shareholder. The retailer is now using this equity financing for the project.
Podgorica-based Voli has 55 stores across Montenegro.
