Zurheide Feine Kost Launches New Flagship Store In Düsseldorf
German retailer Zurheide Feine Kost, which trades under the Edeka banner, has unveiled its new flagship store on Berliner Allee in Düsseldorf.
The new store, which has been several years in development, covers around 10,000 square metres of sales space, and offers 60,000 products, including a range of gastronomic concepts.
The store officially opened its doors last Friday, 22 March.
Zurheide worked with Interstore and Schweitzer Group on the new store, which features sleek designs and innovative concepts, such as the marble cake stands in the Patisserie, natural wood finishes in the fresh food department, and the kitchen-like atmosphere of the pasta section.
“Thirteen years of working on new ideas together with Heinz [Zurheide, Zurheide Feine Kost’s founder] has always been something special, and it has brought us forward together”, commented Bernhard Schweitzer, CEO and owner of Schweitzer.
He added that the three years spent working on this project with the retailer were “kind of terrible and wonderful at the same time.
“As for every Zurheide project, we had the honour to work on over the last 13 years, there was one thing clear from the beginning: a vision of what we want to achieve.”
Lighting in the store was supplied by Ansorg, with the lighting firm installing more than 2,100 luminaires throughout the two floors to provide the right sort of lighting for each department.
