Carrefour Taiwan has reported that the relocation of the Marché de Noël de Strasbourg (Strasbourg Christmas Fair) to Taipei (Taiwan) for the Christmas period has proved a success, attracting more than 500,000 visitors between 1 and 25 December.
Together with specialist food-retailer Reflets de France, Carrefour Taiwan, which co-sponsored the move, had organised tastings to promote French fresh produce and imports. The tastings took place in two Chalets, built on location in Taipei - outside the world's tenth highest skyscraper, the 'Taipei 101'.
The traveling Marché de Noël de Strasbourg, which is the oldest Christmas market of its kind in Europe, was an initiative of Business France Taiwan and the Strasbourg Tourist office, to promote French culture and food.
