Cimcorp Provides Order Picking Solution To Grupo Bimbo
Cimcorp, manufacturer and integrator of turnkey robotic handling solutions, is providing a fully-automated order picking system for a new, fully-automated distribution centre for Grupo Bimbo, located in Mexico City.
Working alongside general contractor Stöcklin, Cimcorp is also providing software that controls the material flow within the three order picking areas.
When completed, the new fully-automated distribution centre will supply over 100 smaller distribution centres. It will have a 24,576-pallet capacity, and dispatch nearly 8,000 pallets daily.
“The Cimcorp solution for Bimbo consists of three robotic order picking cells as well as our Warehouse Control System (WCS), which takes care of the material flow within the three order picking cells and secures traceability and real-time inventory for the automated picking system," said Kai Tuomisaari, Vice President of Sales at Cimcorp.
Grupo Bimbo, one of the leading baked goods producers in the world, expects the new distribution centre to open in the summer of 2019.
