Cold Soups Hit The Mark With Spanish Consumers

The market for Cold Soups is on the rise in Spain.

As well as traditional tomato gazpacho, Spanish consumers are able to find cold soups in flavours such as strawberry, mango and cherry flavoured versions, as well as salmorejo, ajoblanco and vichyssoise.

According to efeagro.com, the Spanish Cold Soups industry moves 45 million litres per year, Nielsen says.

In addition, between June 2015 and June 2016 there was a registered increase in the category of 5.5 per cent in sales and also in volume.

In 2015, one third of Spanish households bought cold soups in the supermarket, 13.5 per cent more than the previous year.
