Rupert Ellwood, currently head of South East retail operations at Waitrose, has been promoted to the position of head of marketing at the retailer. Ellwood replaces Sarah Fuller, who left Waitrose last month for The Garden Centre Group, and will be responsible for ad campaigns, customer publications and events. He joined Waitrose in 2010 from Wineworld, where he was chief executive.
Commenting on Ellwood's appointment, Waitrose marketing director Rupert Thomas said, "Rupert has a proven track record, having played an important role in growing our business overseas. He brings with him a wealth of experience across a range of sectors and business areas, which will be invaluable in continuing to drive our marketing strategy." (20 June)
