Several Carrefour franchises have recently opened in Poland under the Carrefour Express banner. Independent retailers have taken on the banner in Zakliczyn, Krapkowice and Krakow after it was announced earlier in the year that up to 400 franchises would be added in Poland.
The second-largest retailer in the world, the pull of Carrefour's globally-recognised brand is seen as a way to attract customers. There is no initial fee for joining the group, and Carrefour own brand products are on display. "Our franchise network is growing very rapidly," says Francois Vincent, Director of Franchise and Member of the Management Board of Carrefour Poland.
Carrefour and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development have organised a series of meetings for those interested in taking on the banner including one on 7 November in Krakow. (12 Oct)
