German Beverage Market To Return To 2008 Levels ‘by 2012’

Krones, the beverage filling and packaging technology company, has reported a rise in business at the German trade show Brau Beviale indicating a market upturn.

However, Volker Kroneseder, executive chairman of the board, warned the beverage industry may not reach the record growth levels of 2008 for another two years. Krones, which released several new pieces of beverage filling, labelling and brewing equipment at the show, has reported that sales (from January to September 2010) rose by 16.1 per cent to reach €1,583 million and that the order backlog, at €923.2 million, was €35.4 million up on a like-for-like basis.
