Carrefour Franchisee Majid Al Futtaim Opens Three New Stores

The Majid Al Futtaim group, Carrefour's partner and franchisee, has opened two new hypermarkets in Saudi Arabia and Egypt under the Carrefour banner, as well as a supermarket in Georgia.

On 27 August 2013, a Carrefour hypermarket opened in Cairo, Egypt. The store has a sales area of 4400 sq. m and is part of a shopping centre with 25 shops and a car park with space for 500 cars.

On 11 September 2013, a Carrefour hypermarket opened in Jeddah, the second largest town in Saudi Arabia. The Flamingo Jeddah Carrefour has a sales area of 8200 sq. m and is part of a shopping centre with 200 shops, a children's play area and a car park with space for 2000 cars.

On 10 September 2013, the first Carrefour market in Georgia opened in Tbilissi. The “Qarvasla” Carrefour market has a sales area of 1400 sq. m and is part of a shopping centre with 50 shops and a car park with space for 300 cars.

The Majid Al Futtaim Group currently runs 107 stores across 14 different countries,  including 57 Carrefour hypermarkets, 49 Carrefour markets and one web store.
