ECR UK To Extend Mentoring Scheme Next Year

ECR UK has announced plans to expand its mentoring scheme in 2017, aiming to increase the number of partnerships - across the retail, wholesale and the foodservice industry - to 100.

In creating partnerships between young entrepreneurs and senior professionals, the scheme encourages an exchange of ideas and knowledge. In the four years since the launch of the initiative, as part of ECR UK's 'supply chain talent workgroup', the scheme has grown from 17 to 80 partnerships.

Joanne Denney-Finch, IGD Chief Executive, said: "Developing the right set of skills to succeed in today’s ever-evolving supply chain will be critical for future success, and ECR UK’s mentoring programme is an ideal way to nurture these skills. The programme has gone from strength to strength since (the) launch and I’m delighted that it will help so many people in our industry to develop through next year."

The mentoring initiative has previously won ECR Europe's 'Best Activation Award' and has received positive feedback from over 80% of participants, for its support in their personal and professional development.
