Luxury grocer Fortnum & Mason is to open its first new UK store in St Pancras St Station.
Fortnum & Mason, which has been located in Piccadilly for 307 years and has two stores in Japan, will open a new store in the former ticket hall of London's St Pancras station. The 2000 square foot store will sell a range of Fortnum & Mason products, including the retailer's new on-the-go range. Fortnum & Mason customers will also be able to order hampers for delivery using iPads at the store. The retailer described the opening of the store, which will employ 25 people, as a major milestone for the brand. Describing the new St Pancras Station store as a 'great opportunity', Ewan Venters, chief executive at Fortnum & Mason, said, "35 million people a year go through the station, and nearly a quarter of those people are going there to shop rather than to travel."
