Jumbo To Cut In-store Management

Dutch grocer Jumbo Supermarkten is to reduce the number of in-store department managers from five to three.

According to an internal report, the retailer's intention is to have more staff on the shop floor than in back-store functions.

The management positions for the fruit & vegetable and butcher’s department are expected to be axed in the move. Managers responsible for ambient goods, fresh produce and checkouts will continue to hold their positions, according to reports.
