German wholesaler, Lekkerland, has appointed Peter Spitlbauer as their new General Managing Director of the company. In a statement released yesterday, Lekkerland said that the 48-year-old Spitlbauer will begin in his new role from 1 January of next year.
Frank Fleck, who also works in a Managing Director role within Lekkerland will remain as spokesperson for the Board of Management. The company have indicated that both Fleck and Spitlbauer will report to the CEO, Michael Hoffman.
Lekkerland also announced that they are to set up a new executive board which will have responsibility for the purchasing, logistics, marketing and sales departments.
"Spitlbauer will contribute to this within his new position”, explained Hoffman.
Prior to his current post, Peter Spitlbauer had been working on the European level as Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance, responsible for financing, controlling and treasury.
Before the business graduate joined Lekkerland AG & Co. KG in 2008, he had worked in high-ranking positions at Quelle AG and Neckermann Versand AG as well as at Robert Klingel GmbH & Co. KG.
Lekkerland AG & Co. KG is the multi-national wholesaler for a range of retail formats. In the business year 2012, the company achieved a turnover of €11.5 billion.
