Carrefour has been awarded the Responsible Supplier Relations Label at the third SME and Innovation Trade Show in France.
The honour was presented to Noël Prioux, chief executive of Carrefour France, by business mediator Pierre Pelouzet, on behalf of the Minister for the Economy, Industry and Digitalization.
Carrefour is the leading distributor of French SMEs, with a total of 5,000 SME partners throughout the country. In 2014, it launched an SME plan, to develop sustainable relations with its partners.
This year, the retailer made some major developments to its relationships with these suppliers, including a €10 million fund to support SME investments and finance loans at very attractive rates.
In 2015, over one-third of Carrefour's sales were derived from SMEs.
