Carrefour Poland Rolls Out Self-Checkouts In Convenience Stores
Carrefour Poland has announced the introduction of self-checkouts in selected convenience stores in Warsaw and Gdansk, with plans to roll these out to a further 20 locations next year.
The solution, which is described as a 'mini self-service checkout', will assist with customer transaction times at busy periods during the day, the group said.
"As an omnichannel network, whose ambition is to be the leader of innovation in Polish trade, we try to respond to the needs of customers by testing and introducing innovative solutions in various store formats," said Michał Florkiewicz, director of convenience stores at Carrefour Poland.
"Self-service checkouts - so far only available in supermarkets and hypermarkets - are perfect solutions for the convenience segment, enabling queue reduction during rush hour and providing customers with even more convenience in everyday shopping."
The solution is currently available in selected 'orange' Carrefour Poland convenience outlets, which are typically located in high-traffic areas.
