Les Mousquetaires Celebrates 25 Years In Portugal

French retailer Les Mousquetaires is celebrating 25 years in Portugal, where it now has 308 stores with a total surface of 365,000 square metres.

Os Mosqueteiros operates under three different formats in the country – food retail (Intermarché) and specialized retail (Bricomarché and Roady).

In the food retail segment, which accounts for 92% of total sales, Intermarché has 242 stores, with the latest opening last month in São Bartolomeu de Messines (Municipality of Sines).

The 2015-2020 expansion plan foresees the opening of 63 stores by 2020 and the investment of €200 million.

Os Mosqueteiros ended 2015 with a turnover of €2 billion (€1.9 billion in the food retail segment), in line with the 2014 result. Its supplier network consists of over 170 producers that supply over 230 products. The company exports fruits and vegetables (mainly apples and pears) to France and Belgium.
