Unilever Makes Boswell Head Of UK Division

In an effort to boost sluggish growth, Unilever has made Gina Boswell the head of its UK and Ireland arm, thedrum.com and the grocer.co.uk report.

She will assume the role on 7 September 2015, and will succeed Graeme Pitkethly, who has held the position since July 2014.

Boswell is at present head of Unilever’s Personal Care division, which is headquartered in New York.

She successfully marketed Unilever’s skincare brand Simple in the United States after its lucrative distribution in the UK. Before joining Unilever, she was president of Alberto-Culver, which has since been subsumed by Unilever.

She stated, “I am delighted to be taking on this role in one of the most diverse and competitive markets in the world. The UK has a sophisticated consumer base and a dynamic retail environment and I look forward to building on the strong foundations of Unilever UK brands.”
