With bakers contantly introducing creative products that they hope will win over the consumer and help to boost sales in the run-up to Christmas, one such innovative product is Warrens Bakery's Mince Pie Pasty - and it's back after a very successful trial last Christmas.
Renowned for their innovative and award-winning pasties, Warrens Bakery won over consumers with the trial run of the Mince Pie Pasty last December.
Speaking on the Mince Pie Pasty, Jason Jobling, master baker at Warrens Bakery, said he wanted to develop something outstanding that would stand out as a clear culinary winner this Christmas.
“We wanted to give a Cornish twist to the traditional mince pie, which usually line all the retail shelves at Christmas," he said.
"This pasty is handmade using rough puff pastry and hand filled with specially selected mincemeat and a vanilla custard. It's crimped by hand in the same way we would a savoury pasty then glazed and topped with a cinnamon and sugar blend for extra crunch.”
The bakery's award-winning savory pasties offer a true taste of Cornwall - and include the traditional Cornish steak pasty in a number of sizes, the peppered steak pasty, the chicken pasty, the cheese and onion pasty and the vegetable pasty.
The bakery also produces scones, breads, cakes, sweet treats and regional speciality biscuits.
The business has received a long list of accolades for their pasties and artisan sweet bakes.
In 2015 they were recognised in the prestigious Craft Business Award in the Baking Industry Awards 2015 and this year they won a number of awards at The 2016 British Pie Awards and the World Pasty Championships.
