Spanish food distribution cooperative Coviran has inaugurated a new distribution centre in Sabadell dedicated to fresh, chilled, and frozen products.
It will complement the operation of its distribution platform in Barberá del Vallés in Catalonia.
The new distribution centre will help the cooperative to increase its capacity to meet the needs of independent retailers in the region, in the fresh produce segment.
'Commitment To Partners'
All partners of the cooperative in Catalonia, as well as the team that manages the two distribution platforms were present during the inauguration of the new facility.
Coviran's president, Luis Osuna, said, "The opening of this new distribution platform implies the materialisation of our commitment to the partners. We are working to offer them improvements in all aspects related to the business.
“We want our partners to be more competitive, to have the best tools and with all the support of the Cooperative Group to keep growing," said Luis Osuna during the opening ceremony.

Coviran has invested €2 million in the new distribution centre, which is built on a 5,000 square-metre plot comprising five loading and unloading docks, assortment areas and offices.
A real-time tracking system has also been installed in the facility to track the delivery of orders in all stages, beginning from the warehouse to its delivery in the supermarket.
With this launch, the distributor now has 30 logistics centres in Spain and Portugal to provide efficient services to its associates distributed in various geographical locations.
The cooperative comprises more than 2,700 members and 3,221 supermarkets.
