CIVB Appoints Sichel As President

The Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB), which aims to 'develop the notoriety of Bordeaux wines in France and abroad through advertising campaigns, digital communications, public and press relations, and training', has appointed négociant Allan Sichel as its president.

Sichel succeeds Bernard Farges in the role, and has a mandate to be in charge of the body for three years, LSA.fr reports.

The British-French Sichel acted as president of the Union des Maisons de Bordeaux between 2003 and 2008, and between 2010 and 2016. He has also been the vice-president of the CIVB since 2013, and worked as the president of the Fédération des Négociants de Bordeaux et de Libourne.

The CIVB tasks itself with “acquiring data and improving knowledge relating to the production, the markets and the sale of Bordeaux wines throughout the world.”
