Danone’s organic yoghurt brand, Les 2 Vaches, is set to enter Spanish supermarkets, making Spain the second country to see a rollout the French products, LSA-Conso.fr reports.
The Danone subsidiary was launched in France ten years ago, and has seen its sales figures rise in tandem with the growing market demand for organic, ultra-fresh produce. Danone Spain will release Les 2 Vaches, as the Spanish organic sector is also growing strongly and consistently.
"Organic, ultra-fresh now creates a turnover of €25 million in this country [Spain]," said Christophe Audouin, director general of Les 2 Vaches France. "There is a strong chance we will grow here, and there are relatively few brands meeting this demand at the present time."
Initially, because Spain does not produce enough organic milk to meet Danone's need, the products for the Spanish market will be produced in Normandy.
