Henkel Appoints New Head Of Beauty Care

Henkel, the maker of brands such as Persil and Loctite, has announced that Jens-Martin Schwärzler is being appointed to the company's management board, effective 1 November, and will be responsible for Henkel Beauty Care.

Schwärzler, who is currently responsible for Henkel's consumer goods business in North America, will succeed Pascal Houdayer, who is leaving the company.

“We are very pleased to appoint Jens-Martin Schwärzler as board member to lead our beauty care business in the future," said Hans Van Bylen, CEO of Henkel.

"He has broad international experience and a deep understanding of our beauty care business.”

Schwärzler joined Henkel in 1992, and has been responsible for the North America consumer market since 2015. The company says that under his leadership, Henkel successfully launched brands such as Persil and Schwarzkopf in the region.

Henkel posted profit of €909 million in the second quarter of its financial year - an increase of 11% compared to the previous year. The company's biggest beauty care brands include Schwarzkopf, Dial and Syoss.
