Dino Polska To Step Up Investment In Eco-Friendly Initiatives

Polish retailer Dino Polska has announced plans to commence another round of investment in renewable energy sources across its operations.

The investment will see the installation of photovoltaic panels at three of its distribution centres and on the roofs of several hundred Dino stores across Poland.

The new round of investment follows the successful completion of the first stage of installing photovoltaic panels on the roofs of 400 Dino stores across the country.

The Project

On 18 February 2021, Dino Polska entered into a contract to assemble photovoltaic installations in three of the company’s distribution centres with a total capacity of 3MW.

The move will significantly bring down the demand for electricity from conventional energy sources and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 2,200 tonnes per annum.

In the next 12 months, the company will also invest in installing photovoltaic panels on the roofs of 400 Dino stores across Poland.

The capacity of the installed panels will be approximately 16 MW, which will allow the company to reduce the equivalent of 12,000 tonnes CO2 emissions per annum.

A ‘Priority’

Michał Muskała, member of the management board of Dino Polska S.A., commented, “Investments in renewable energy sources and promulgating environmentally-friendly solutions are one of the company’s priorities, while permanently mitigating its environmental impact is embedded in the operational activity of Dino Polska.”

The completion of these projects will take the total capacity of all of the installations to 33 MW.

In 2022, this should make it possible to reduce the equivalent of 24,000 thousand tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
