Auchan France Wins Diversity Trophy

French retail giant Auchan has been awarded the Trophée de la Diversité from consulting firm Diversity Conseil.

The prize recognizes Auchan's efforts to mobilized disabled people into its workforce and comes as Auchan celebrates the 20th anniversary of the first agreement it signed to provide support for people with disabilities.

In recognition of its efforts, Auchan was presented with the “Stakeholder Commitment and Involvement” Trophy at the eighth Trophées de la Diversité on 26 September. A total of 11 companies received prizes.

According to Auchan, 'This anniversary, which is being celebrated throughout the year, highlights all of the actions taken to promote the integration and retention of employees with disabilities, and is supported by 126 store managers representing every single Auchan site in France'.

Events during the year will include a wheelchair basketball tournament, partnerships with the Trisomie 21 association and the Heart and Arteries Foundation.
