Carrefour has increased its ecommerce presence with the purchase of organic supplier Greenweez.

As well as making organic food and cosmetic products, Greenweez produces apparel, homeware, and children’s items. Its primary focus, however, is organic fresh produce, ready meals, breads, confectionery, oils, etc.

Though 90 per cent of its sales occur in France, the company also trades in Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the UK, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Greenweez’s turnover is about €20 million, according to LSA.fr. Its growth rate is 35 per cent, outstripping the growth of France’s organic sector (14 per cent).
