Tesco Recalls Fajitas Meal Kit

Tesco has recalled its own-label Tesco Fajitas Meal Kit due to a nut allergen issue.

Its website states: "Our supplier has informed us that almond protein may be present in 6 batch codes of the seasoning mix within Tesco Fajitas Meal Kits. Almond is not declared on the product label. This product may be unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of almond or its constituents."

The supermarket chain advises consumers not to consume the product if allergic to or intolerant of almonds.

It also asked that shoppers return the affected products to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given - no receipt is required to do so.

The related Tesco Fajitas Meal Kit (475g) product has best before dates of 16/05/2015, 17/05/2015, 30/05/2015, 07/06/2015, 08/06/2015, 25/06/2015.

Tesco advises consumers to contact its customer services department in the UK and Ireland for more information.

Its rival Aldi recently recalled batches of a Fiesta Fajita Dinner Kit, because of the presence of undeclared almond protein in its seasoning mix.
