Serbian Grocery Consortium To Open 50 New Stores in 2017
Serbian grocery consortium Domaći Trgovački Lanac (DTL) is planning to open 50 new stores during 2017.
DTL was established in 2011 as an association of local retailers, with the goal of unifying procurement and market strategy, and showcasing manufacturers that recognise the benefits of the development of regional retail players.
The consortium currently consists of 14 member companies with over 580 stores throughout Serbia, making it the largest Serbian-owned food retailer.
Members include Podunavlje; Vum; BB Trade; Senta-Promet; Medius; Europrom; VP-Dima; Kastrum; Styline; Morava; Morava Prom; Tekijanka; Metalac Proleter and Leon Conditors.
According to local portal eKapija, as well as opening new stores, in 2017 NTL should also grow organically, with the arrival of new members, taking the number of stores to 650, while the private label range will be expanded by around 100 items.
NTL expects a 12% growth of turnover in 2016 compared to the previous year.
