Italy's Conad Seeks To Optimise its Logistics Chain

Conad Logistics, the logistics unit of Italian retailer Conad, has selected Tesisquare to assist with the optimisation of its logistics chain.

By involving all players in the supply chain, the retailer's goal is to enhance services, enabling more sustainable, effective and transparent management.

As technological partner, Tesisquare will digitise all information processes related to logistics, automating both the processes of booking unloading slots and the real-time acquisition of the various components of shipping orders.

Transport Optimisation

For some time now, Conad has been monitoring the CO₂ emissions resulting from its transport networks in order to define the objectives and activities required to reduce the environmental impact of its logistics structure.

Many concrete actions have already been implemented and are included in the Italian retailer's sustainability strategy.

These include the use of fleets with low-impact vehicles, increasing load saturation, energy efficiency, increasing intermodal transport over medium/long distances, the use of pooling for pallets and the central management of transport from supplier companies to the locations of the cooperatives.

Improved Communication

The digitisation of supply chain processes, supported by the Tesisquare Platform for end-to-end visibility of the supply chain and TESI TC1, a collaborative portal for slot booking and time tracking, has improved communication within the Conad Logistics network and made connections more agile, mapped and efficient, the retailer said.

Conad Logistics is able to coordinate, monitor, measure and control all supply chain data in real time, thus achieving immediate communication between all supply chain actors.
