Amazon has announced plans to open lockers in London Underground car parks this month, in partnership with Transport for London (TfL).
From June 30, Internet shoppers will be able to collect purchases from Amazon lockers in the car parks of Finchley Central and Newbury Park Underground stations.
The Internet retail giant already has pick-up points at around 300 UK locations – supermarkets, shopping centres, universities and libraries.
Christopher North, managing director of Amazon.co.uk said: “Some of our first Lockers in the world were launched in London and they have become the preferred delivery option for many in the capital.”
By teaming up with TfL, Amazon now brings the “convenience of Amazon Lockers to an even greater number of London commuters,” he said.
Supermarket chains Asda and Tesco already have ‘click and collect’ outlets at Tube stations across London.
Sainsbury's will commence a locker service this summer.
