Coca-Cola Named Ireland’s Biggest Selling Brand For 12th Consecutive Year

Coca-Cola has been named Ireland’s biggest-selling brand for the 12th year in a row, in the annual Checkout Top 100 Brands report, produced in association with Nielsen.

The Checkout Top 100 Brands is based on value sales across a 12 month period, and this year’s edition shows that Irish brands continue to resonate strongly with consumers.

Cadbury Dairy Milk places 2nd on the list, followed by Irish bread brand Brennans (3rd), milk brand Avonmore (4th), and potato crisp brand Tayto (5th).

Other Irish brands performing well on this year’s list include Jacob’s (9th), Dairygold (14th), soft drinks brand Club (16th), Pat the Baker (21st), and Irish Pride (22nd).

“As the Irish grocery landscape becomes more and more competitive, Ireland’s biggest brands are again proving they are ready to rise to the challenge,” said Jenny Whelan, Editor, Checkout.

As well as the Top 100 Brands, Heineken leads Top 50 Alcohol brands list for the third year in a row, while Santa Rita cements its place as Ireland’s biggest selling wine, topping the Top 20 Wines List. Heineken is also number one on the Top 20 LADs list, while Smirnoff continues to lead the Top 20 Spirits list.
