  • Frostkrone Food Group has launched Green Date, a new free-from food range inspired by fresh green vegetables.

The range is suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians, and all products are free from gluten, lactose, preservatives and flavour enhancers. They are not pre-fried, either.

Frédéric Dervieux, Frostkrone chief executive, commented, "We wanted to create a completely new selection of finger food and snacks for our customers. Something where the feeling of nature chimes together perfectly with snack appeal. Products that the consumer looks at and then wants to take a bite of immediately."

The idea behind the range draws inspiration from natural and delicious ingredients that customers can see and taste.

It includes a selection of different types of carefully prepared vegetables, including peas, carrots, bell peppers, courgettes, sweet potatoes and kale, among others.

Green Date seeks to preserve as many of the nutrients in the vegetables by implementing a handling process that is minimal and gentle.

The range offers six different snack variants based on the predilections and ingredients of various cultures and cuisines.

Frostkrone's product development team has combined these characteristics in such a way that new and exciting taste experiences have been developed.

The deep-frozen products are available as mini cakes, croquettes, balls, or burgers.

Variants include Curry Kiss, Beet Affair, Kale Crush, Smoky Touch, Garden Quickie and Sunset Flirt.

The range owes its crunchiness to tiger nuts, which are a rich source of fibre, protein, iron, potassium, vitamin E, and unsaturated fatty acids.
