The Sanpellegrino Group has been named the leading beverage group in Italy by a survey of leading domestic retailers.
The Italian beverage company, which is owned by Nestlé, achieved nearly 50% of its turnover in the domestic market last year, ranked first in the survey conducted by the Advantage Group, which tracks the performance of manufacturers by analysing the views of the large retail players.
The Advantage Report Mirror is conducted annually in 42 countries around the world. Performance was evaluated in six different areas: Business Relationships and Support, Producer Personnel; Category Development; Consumer Marketing; Customer Marketing/Promotions; Order Management; and Logistics and Customer Service.
The Sanpellegrino Group achieved the highest score in the Business Relations category, with retailers saying that they appreciated the company's ability to communicate its business strategies, make joint planning decisions and collaborate to meet their needs.
In the Consumer and Customer Marketing categories, retailers also appreciated Sanpellegrino's preparation, experience, decision-making autonomy, and ability to provide answers quickly.
The director of the Sanpellegrino Group's Business Unit in Italy, Stefano Marini, said that the recognition was achieved in a highly competitive market, pointing out that the company registered improvement trends in all areas.
