St Hubert To Begin Making Yoghurts

The French brand St Hubert, which belongs to the UK investment fund Montagu, is entering the soybean-yoghurt market.

St Hubert is perhaps known best as a specialist in vegetable margarine, but in France it has a new line of products, christened Les Petits Plaisirs Soja (The Little Soybean Pleasures). The range features six products.

François Graffan, the firm's marketing director, said “We are making a very ligitimate move into this sector. Our brand is known by consumers as one that makes foodstuffs which both give pleasure and possess high nutritional value. Effectively, we hope to diversify, and offer alternatives within these classic food categories.”

The new line, which features yoghurts flavoured with, respectively, 'natural flavour', chocolate, vanilla, apricot, strawberry, and raspberry, will be made available by French grocers on 1 April.
