Conserve Italia Sees Full-Year Sales Rise

Food manufacturer Conserve Italia has ended its financial year 2017-2018 with revenues of €183 million, up 4% on the previous year.

The results include the commercial activities of its subsidiaries in France, the US and Australia.

In its home market (accounting for 60% of turnover), the Italian food company and cooperative reported a 9.8% growth in turnover.

Global Presence

The Bologna-based consortium is present in over 80 countries, mainly with the Cirio and Valfrutta brands.

In Europe, the Cirio tinned tomatoes and passata brand confirmed its leadership in several countries, including in the UK (where it is market leader), France (+10% turnover) and Romania (where it is the third biggest player with 7.2% share).

Sales of fruit-based juices and beverages account for 40% of the turnover, followed by tomato preserves (26%), vegetable preserves (24%) and fruit syrup (6%).

Other products offered by the group (jams, ready meals, etc) account for 4% of turnover.

The company’s main brands (Valfrutta, Yoga, Derby Blue, Cirio, Juver, Jolly Colombani) account for around 68% of turnover, with the company also developing private label brands and products for industrial trade.
