Australian Wine Exports Improving

The most recent figures make positive reading for the Australia’s wine industry.

There has been a resurgence in interest in Australian wine globally, with exportations on an upward trajectory so far this year, with exports to the end of March from the new-world nation increased by 3.9 per cent in value, and 3.6 per cent in volume.

These figures were supplied to the media by the Australian Grape and Wine Authority’s (AWGA) Wine Export Approval Report March 2015.

The demand for high-end Australian wine has been particularly robust, with Asia proving an increasingly lucrative destination.

AGWA’s CEO, Andreas Clark, stated, “Australia is really making its best wine now. We’re seeing iconic vintages year after year and Asia, especially China, is leading the demand for top-end wine. We've always kept our prices competitive too so that buyers know they’re getting excellent wine at a decent price.”
