Franck To Distribute Intersnack Savoury Products in Croatia

Croatian coffee, tea and snacks company Franck will take over the distribution of Intersnack savoury snack products for the Croatian market from January 1 2016.

This distribution deal is part of the cooperation agreement signed between the two partners in the framework of the newly formed company Adria Snack Company, which became operational in October 2015.

The joint venture between Franck and the Germany-based savoury snack manufacturer is aimed at boosting the brand's market position in the Adria region (countries of the former Yugoslavia), and includes joint marketing and investments in the modernization and expansion of its production capacity in Croatia.

By separating the snack business into a separate company, Franck intends to strengthen the management team that will have exclusive responsibility for the snacks category. With this organizational change, Franck continues to develop its coffee, tea and coffee substitutes business within the platform "Kuće toplih napitaka" (House of hot drinks), while Adria Snack Company will focus on the salty snacks business, which requires a different sales and marketing approach.

Adria Snack Company will manage a portfolio that includes the entire assortment of Franck snack products (Čipi Čips, My Chips, Kroki Kroket and Tip Top) as well as the Intersnack brands (Chio, Funny-Frisch, Pom-Bar and Kelly) that the company plans to import to the region.

In Croatia, Adria Snack Company with its brands has 23% of the total snacks market and almost 45% of the chips market, a share that rises to more than 60% if the production of private label brands is taken into account.
