Monoprix Signs Licensing Deal With Starbucks

Groupe Casino subsidiary Monoprix has announced a licensing deal with Starbucks, which will see concessions of the coffee chain appear in selected stores around France.

The first two locations to receive a Starbucks will be Monoprix Beaugrenelle, in Paris, and Monoprix GBL, in Lyon. Both are expected to open by the end of 2015.

“We pride ourselves on offering the widest variety of services and products, and the addition of Starbucks is another example of us giving our customers more," said Dominique Benoit, head of real estate and franchise at Monoprix. "We are looking forward to surprising our customers with an innovative and premium service – the highest-quality coffee and Starbucks experience.”

A spokesperson for Starbucks added that the deal "underlines our commitment to growing our business in France, with an experienced French retailer with stores in central, prime city locations."
