Dixy Group Own-Brand Rice Receives Russian Quality Mark

Russian retailer Dixy Group's 'D' own-brand short-grain rice has been awarded the Russian Quality Mark, after in-depth research and site evaluations.

Its 'sound and fresh', kernels, highly-milled, fulfilled the Russian Quality System GOST R standard. Tests found them free of any herbicides, insecticides, or other agricultural chemicals.

Dixy Group produces the rice with Krasnodar Yuzhnaya Risovaya Kompaniya (South Rice Company), which belongs to the Agro-Alliance Holding.

This partner also manufactures 15 other grains for the retailer, which undergo thorough quality controls.

“Product quality control at every stage is the foundation of our work and the customers’ trust. Regardless of the economic environment, quality remains the key factor influencing store customers’ selection of daily purchases,” said Lyudmila Etiz, quality director of Dixy Group.

In a statement, the company said that every other customer that visits their chain purchases private-label grains. Results from 2016 showed that the aggregate share of own-brands contributed 15.5% to turnover.

Dixy Group's private label premium sunflower seed oil, Pervym Delom, has also received the quality stamp. Dixy's lightly-salted salmon, Tarhun drink and ketchup were recognised as products of high quality during the test period, the company said.
