Spanish retailer Eroski celebrated 'El día grande del Socio' ('the big day of the partner') last weekend, with events in Bilbao and Donostia that were open to more than one million members of the cooperative from across the Basque Country, Navarra, La Rioja and Cantabria.
The retailer organised meetings of consumer associations ahead of the cooperative's general assembly, which is due to take place on 21 June. These meetings enabled consumer partners to learn about 'the evolution of the cooperative and the main projects carried out in the last year’.
The first meeting was held at the Kursaal in San Sebastián on Saturday 10 June, and the second took place the next day at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao.
Eroski also organised a number of public-orientated events throughout Sunday. Attendees at Euskalduna Palace were introduced to Ekilibria – a programme of ‘personalised nutritional diagnosis supplemented with recommendations for a healthy, free and accessible diet for all partners of Eroski Club’.
Consumers were able to enjoy interactive exhibits, tastings and live cooking demonstrations, as well as workshops on food for both adults and children.
At the event, the retailer also launched its new credit card, Eroski Club MasterCard, and a new space reserved for wine lovers called Vinoteka.
