Groupe Casino has published its second-quarter figures for 2014, reporting that its total sales stood at €11.9 billion for the period, marking a growth of 6.5 per cent.
Its Géant outlets' sales were up by 2.1 per cent.
Internationally, the grocery-retail industry is enjoying strong growth, with a collective increased turnover of 10.9 per cent. This is largely owing to Brazil's World Cup-bolstered improvement of 12.7 per cent.
Cdiscount, Groupe Casino's e-commerce operation, has continued its rapid growth (18 per cent). The Brazilian e-commerce company, Nova Pontocom, was up 38 per cent.
