Italian regional retailer Gruppo Roberto Abate has opened its first San’e store in Catania, Sicily, according to Retail Watch.

The new store concept offers an assortment of 2,700 products, including a range of locally sourced organic products.

San'e also features freshly-prepared meals and sandwiches, food to go, and a selection of free-from products.

The Sicily-based retailer is present in the provinces of Catania, Siracusa, Messina, Trapani, Caltanissetta and Enna with different banners, from neighbourhood stores to hypermarkets. It is also part of the Selex grocery retail distribution network.

Earlier this month, the Gruppo Abate launched another new store concept, Grande A, which aims to save shoppers money through a number of multi-purchase formulas.
